SIMPLE, Succesful Implementation of Eco-Design in small and Medium-sized Companies
The principle aim of the SIMPLE project is to develop eco-design methodologies and approaches (product development with the aim to reduce environmental impact), and to facilitate implementation and use in small and medium-sized enterprises (SME’s).
This means to seek simplicity and further develop methodologies for external support as well as internal procedures and working methodologies in companies. To achieve this SME’s will be supported in their product and process development by activities such as networking, education, individual projects and knowledge transfer. The output of the project will be new or improved “environmental” products and increased ability within SME’s to perform eco-design activities as well as an increase in the skills of business developers to support SME’s in this field. There will be mutual benefits for SIMPLE and the EASE-project, (applied for by CCI, Lyon). The projects have the same overall aim of sustainability, but with different approaches, working methods and areas of focus, allowing for broad experiences to be achieved by learning from each other.
Partners in this project are:
Region 1. – Ostergotland County Administrative Board (Sw) – lead participant
Region 2. – Lancaster University (UK) - participant
Region 3. – Uppsala County Government Board (Sw) - participant
